10월 5일 토요일 오후 2:00 시부터 오후 5:00시까지 GPSCY 에서 BBQ party가 있을 예정입니다. 많은 분들의 참여 부탁드립니다. 더불어 음식 준비를 위하여 Facebook 그룹 이벤트에서 RSVP를 부탁드립니다.

이와 함께 $5의 참가비를 받게 된 이유에 대하여 간략하게 설명 드리겠습니다. 작년까지 YKGA는 welcome reception에 온 분들에게 걷는 $20의 회비와 기타 외부 펀딩으로 1년동안의 이벤트를 꾸려나갔지만, 외부 펀딩을 받을 수 있는 곳이 매우 제한적이고 금액 또한 많지가 않아서 이벤트 준비때마다 항상 예산이 부족하다는 문제를 겪어왔습니다. 그러다 보니 이벤트를 개최할 때도 매우 적은 예산으로 준비를 할 수 밖에 없었고, 따라서 이벤트의 성격이 많이 제한이 될 수 밖에 없었습니다. 이번해에는 각각의 이벤트들을 조금 더 크고 알차게 준비하려다 보니 $20의 회비와 기타 펀딩들로 1년동안의 예산을 충족해 나가는 것은 무리가 있다는 결론을 내리게 되었고, 따라서 몇몇 행사에 대해서는 소정의 참가비를 책정하기로 결정하였습니다. YKGA 분들께 이와 관련해서 너그러이 이해를 해 주시길 부탁 드리며, 이번 이벤트에도 지난번 welcome reception 같이 많은 성원 부탁드립니다.

Dear YKGA members,
YKGA is happy to announce that we will be having a fall BBQ party on Saturday, October 5th from 2pm to 5pm at GPSCY (204 York St). RSVP on YKGA’s Facebook group event to help us estimate the number of event attendees. This will help us greatly with preparing enough food for everyone.
1. Location: GPSCY (204 York Street, New Haven. Between Chapel St. and Elm St.)
2. Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
3. Entrance fee: $5
Lastly, we would like to briefly explain the reason behind the $5 entrance fee per each person for this event. Until last year, all YKGA events were prepared using the organization’s annual budget, which consisted of $20/person annual fees from our members and donations from outside funding sources. We have limited number of funding sources and the amount of funding we receive is not as substantial as some may believe. This resulted in the organization having budget constraints when hosting events and unfortunately limited the variety and scope of the events we were able to bring to our community. This year, we would like to try our best to improve on the quality and scope of our events, and we have reached a conclusion that the organization will not be able to do so without charging moderate fees for some of our events. We kindly ask for your understanding and we sincerely appreciate your support.
